GoonieBox

Guido Bonelli Jr. is an inventor/designer and a maker. His particular interest is creating interactive playable artwork. Moreover, he loves puzzles. The mix of these two hobbies helps him to create amazing projects.
Guido wanted to create a unique piece of furniture which his guests could interact with and could easily understand how it worked. What inspired him was a puzzle from the first installment of the game “The Room” (Google play or Apple store ), but only later on he came up with a design worthy of this puzzle.

In December 2015,  Guido stumbled upon a very curious clock. This was no ordinary clock, it stood over 6 feet tall, made of solid metal and a giant hourglass in the middle. When someone touched the steampunk-esque metal wheel, it moved and turned the massive hourglass in the middle. He began to conceive an idea which would combined his love for clocks and puzzles in one unique piece of furniture. This way the “GoonieBox”  was born. The name came form Guido’s favorite childhood movie “ The Goonies”. The outer box of it is made out of wood. There is a big hourglass in the middle of the case, that actually tells time.

“At the heart of GoonieBoxTM is of course an Arduino… Effortlessly whisking away my artistically written 0's and 1's into a symphony of movement, sound and game play. Taking approximately 800 hours of build time, GoonieBoxTM is my greatest accomplishment by far in the world of Arduino.” - said the author.

We wish Guido good luck with his future projects! And we are sure that we will hear about them!
