AllSeen Alliance Member Summit Meeting
19-21 October 2015
AllSeen Alliance Summit in Seattle was a great experience for everybody who attended it this year, including us. During these days, leaders, developers, managers and the open source community shared their ideas and worked together to further explore the possibilities of IoT ecosystem. AllSeen Summit included various panels, talks, technical and general sessions that encouraged collaboration on AllJoyn, open source software framework, as well as provided with the extensive information about the innovative IoT solutions and the latest developments in this industry. The most memorable session was the one conducted by amazing Tenaya Hurst, the Linino woman:
She began by sharing about various features of the Arduino Yun, Yun Mini, and other new hardware we just released at Maker Faire. She highlighted how our Linux capabilities come from Qualcomm, and thus, users also able to use AllJoyn on any Yun or Linino product. Tenaya also brought the group into the world of hackathons. Next she dived into showcasing another project by Qualcomm, the #WhyWaitInventOff. This was a mini reality show with 6 episodes of a couple minutes each. Finally, as the session theme was home security, Tenaya showed a few references online to makers who have created various home automation solutions for their own homes. Overall, AllSeen Summit was a great opportunity for us to network with other attendees and inform them about the efforts that we are taking to improve our hardware with AllJoyn software.
