Arduino collaborates with Linux developers in Berlin Featured

Arduino participated in three events that occurred in Berlin (Oct 11-13): Embedded Linux Conference Europe (ELCE), OpenIoT Conference,  OpenWrt Summit.
At ELCE, Arturo Rinaldi presented an overview of the Linino OS, which is based on OpenWrt and runs on Arduino Yun and Arduino Tian hardware platforms. Software functionality is included in Linino to enable easy access and control over digital and analog data connected to the MCU. Data are mapped from the MCU to the Linux filesystem where applications can process and manipulate the data easily, including optional transport to the cloud via the Internet.
Arduino hardware was often seen as part of IoT demonstration setups on the Exhibit floor. We also showed off our hardware and demonstrated Linino during the sponsor showcase on Wednesday evening.
At the OpenWrt Summit we hosted a panel session where panelists were asked to describe the progress of industry + community relations over the past couple years. Although there is always room for more progress, the participants were generally positive regarding the collaboration that has occurred between the two groups.
Several enhancements underway by the OpenWrt community will benefit Linino and the Arduino community in the coming months. Industry + Community = win-win!
